If you're interested in attending a law school prep course so that you can truly excel once you begin your 1L classes, visit: Law Preview - New York University School of Law.

“At NYU Law, academics are about more than just coursework; they are about interdisciplinary intellectual dialogue, first-hand lawyering and clinical experiences--and always, a global approach to training the leaders of tomorrow.” (NYU Law Website)

In addition to the traditional lecture courses, students have a rich variety of elective courses from which to choose. For example, NYU Law offers 27 clinics that address “a wide range of complex legal issues, from immigrants facing deportation and juveniles accused of serious crimes to defendants facing the death penalty.” (NYU Law Website) NYU Law also provides its students with the option of learning through participating in colloquia. “Colloquia generate a free flow of ideas among participants and the distinction between "teacher" and "student" is abandoned in favor of the joint pursuit of advanced study involving law and other disciplines. Each Colloquium consists of a series of workshops on a given subject. Generally, students and faculty members meet and discuss a recent paper by a leading authority in that week's topic of study. The next day they meet with the author, along with other visiting faculty members and invited guests, for a workshop about the paper (there may be smaller meetings and informal dinners with faculty, students, and guest speakers as well). The following week, reactions to the workshop are reviewed, and then, with the next topic, the whole process begins again.” (NYU Law Website)

Those interested in joint degrees will be pleased to learn that NYU Law offers a J.D./LL.M in International Law J.D./M.A.; J.D./M.B.A.; J.D./M.P.A. ; J.D./M.U.P.; J.D./M.S.W.; J.D./Ph.D. In addition, NYU offers a J.D./M.P.A. program with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; a J.D./M.P.A. program with the Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs at Princeton University; a J.D./LL.B. program with the National University of Singapore; and a combined program of study with both Osgoode Hall Law School of York University and University of Melbourne.

For those students wishing to obtain an advanced degree, NYU Law offers the Master of Laws (LL.M.), the Executive LL.M. in Taxation, the Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.), and the Advanced Professional Certificate.
