Founded 1891 | ABA Accredited 1923

Established in 1891, the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law has been educating law students for over a century. The campus is located in Columbus, Ohio, only three miles from the heart of the city. This setting provides students with convenient access to hundreds of law firms, the Ohio Legislature, as well as federal, state, and municipal courts. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Moritz Law among the top 35 schools in the nation.

A key feature of the Moritz Law curriculum is that several of its courses are taught in small sections of 40 or fewer students. First-year students take Legal Writing & Analysis in sections of approximately 20 students and one of their substantive courses is taught in sections of 35-40 students. All first year students study the same foundational prescribed courses. At the upper-level, the curriculum at Moritz Law offers approximately 145 elective courses from which to choose. The school also has a number of clinics, externships, internships and interesting programs and centers, such as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, Judicial Externship Program, and a Global Perspective on the Law Program, which focuses on international and comparative law.

Moritz Law offers students the opportunity to diversify their education. The school sponsors formal dual degree programs and the opportunity for students to tailor their own dual degree program with one of the University’s more than 100 graduate programs. Students also have the opportunity to study abroad in England.
